JLB Group is committed to providing a safe working environment for all staff, contractors, clients and members of the public on every project we undertake.
Safety Is Non-Negotiable
At JLB Group, health and safety is embedded in everything we do — from initial project planning through to completion. We operate under New Zealand's Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and hold ourselves to a high standard on every site.
Our team is experienced working in high-risk environments including correctional facilities, industrial sites and remote locations. We bring that discipline and rigour to every project, regardless of scale.
Our Approach
How We Manage Safety on Every Project
Hazard Identification
We identify and assess hazards before work begins on every project. Site-specific hazard registers are maintained and reviewed throughout the project lifecycle.
PPE Requirements
Appropriate personal protective equipment is mandatory on all JLB Group sites. PPE requirements are communicated clearly to all staff and subcontractors before site entry.
Contractor Management
All subcontractors working with JLB Group are required to demonstrate current health and safety compliance, hold appropriate insurance and follow our site safety plans.
Incident Reporting
All incidents, near misses and hazards are reported, recorded and investigated. We use learnings from incidents to continuously improve our safety practices.
Site Safety Plans
A site-specific safety plan is developed for every project. Plans are shared with clients and all parties on site prior to work commencing.
Training & Competency
Our team holds relevant trade qualifications, site safety certifications and first aid training. We ensure all personnel are competent for the tasks they are assigned.
Our Health & Safety Policy
JLB Group is committed to achieving the highest practicable standard of health and safety for all workers and others affected by our work. We will identify and manage risks, provide appropriate training and equipment, and foster a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
